Life is a long long long journey, the most critical path is only a few steps.

We have had a thought provoking 145th regular meeting. Great appreciation to Amy’s undivided sharing in the invocation session. The message is so strong that it was not too late to express our feeling to our friends, family and beloved.

“Terminator’s famous quote: I will be back” can be applied to Kim Choo’s came back as Table Topic Master for the second time after more than three years she has been with Klang Bilingual Toastmaster. Just to name a few: “Money and Family: which is more important?” “Which country you would select if you win a free trip” “Be employee or self employed?” As evaluator, Patrick Lim pointed out the points for improvement in humorous ways. I remembered the most of his remarks of Fahmi’s marriage life is a long long journey. Yes indeed, it is long long… Hahaha. Our new guest Amin who won the Best Table Topic Speech surprised me with his speech which was so organized that he shared three reasons for choosing the London as his country for his free trip in 2 mins. At last he even wrapped it up with conclusion before stepping down politely.

The pepper fried meehun and fried eggs prepared by Mei Lee were so delicious that we forgot the time to start the meeting. The speech speaker Lee Choo again impressed us on her calmness. She was ready to go to the “first floor” to join us as the Competent Communicators very soon. She showed no nervousness and has prepared the speech exceptionally well. Our second speaker, Ivy Gam gave her speech #8 on visual aids. Even though the projector visual effect is poor, but credits to her on the great effort in her slides. She demonstrated the S.T.D.R. of human characteristic and related it well with the four roles in “Journey to the West” which we knew after the speech that S (Socialites) refers to Mr. Zhu, T (Thinker, Mr Tang), D (Director, Sun) and R (Relater, Mr Sha).

In the general evaluation by Assistant Division Governor Marketing and Elected Area Governor Vincent Soon, ACB and ALB, he even listed four sharp observations on Lee Choo’s mandarin speech even though he was not well versed in mandarin. His points for improvement for the regular meeting were remarkable.

At the end of the meeting, the audience was also shown the Division Level First Runner Up Humorous Speech Speaker on “Communication”. We were impressed with his clear three life experiences of mis-communication. I remembered the most his funny remarks of “morning morning morning morning” & “she is far far beautiful and she is also beautiful from far far away”.
