今天，我得交作业六，心情有点紧张，导致我错过部分的会议。不好意识！

出席今晚的会议人数有21，包括4位来宾，他们是：
1． 林嘉风, DTM (MIHRM TM Club，PJ)
2． Melvin Cheah (Subang TM Club, PJ)
3． 李勇健, CC CL (MEF TM Club, Penang)
4． 李婉霓

很高兴的是李婉霓今晚之后就会加入巴生双语国际讲演会，成为我们的一分子。

余燕芬, CC是今晚的司仪，她很用心的去准备，让今晚的会议能够顺利完成。她的用心我们都感受得到。

同样的，今天的语言评论员也是李秋玲, CC 她为我们准备了多音多义字。
开拓（kai tuo）：开辟道路，土地之意思
拓（ta）：将碑文上的文字，图形用纸刻、印出来后再上墨。比作法称为‘拓’

今晚背搞作业的环节里，有三位讲员：
1． 单元三：确定目标—〉萧铭言, TM（讲题：How safe we are?）
2． 单元二：条理分明—〉庄倩云, ACS CL（讲题：Certificate）
3． 单元六：遣辞用字—〉 罗文强, TM（讲题：方法）

由于我是最后一个背搞讲员，我并没有认真的在听之前两位的演讲，忘了他们的内容是什么。只是专注在我的背搞作业。抱歉哦！人家说：“老王卖瓜，自赞自夸！”我也来少少自夸，语言评论员李秋玲, CC选中的一句优美词句是在我的讲稿里面得来的－〉“每个难题都有方法解决！”酷！

在即席演说里，有６位勇于挑战的会友，他们是：

Regular Meeting 83 (E) - 24th August 2009

Let’t get the ball rolling, Klang Toastmaster Bilingual Club Regular Meeting (83). On the 83th meeting we had 23 distinguish Toastmasters and was being honored by 5 guests, they are:
1. Richard Yeow, CC from CIMA Toastmaster Club
2. Nuissah
3. Gunasundari
4. Alvin Lim
5. Angela Lee

Our distinguish guest, Richard Yeow, had picked up the Toastmaster of the Evening (TME) role and conduct the meeting no lesser than excellence. The theme for tonight is “Believe It and Achieve It”. He started off with sharing with us on the book that he had read, “THE SECRET”. With one of the most famous quotes of today: THE LAW OF ATTRACTION.

Out of surprise and ordinary, we have an Invocation Session tonight, for a long time we did not have this session, and we are astounded that it finally returned! Adrian Kow TM shared with is us about a fishing journey of a 7 years old kid, Sean, who has the passion and persistency for his hobby. Little Sean doesn't care if it's hot, he doesn't care if it's high tide or low or even if the fishes are much more difficult to catch during this period. All he cared and focus on was to enjoy the moment, doing the thing that he loves, and having a believe that, sooner or later, he will catch HIS fish. We the KBTC members and all of Toastmaster international engaged Toastmaster for reasons which we ourselves believed in, whether be it to be better public speakers, better leaders, or even a better communicator. Now if we hold on to this believe of ours, acting on it, persevere with it, and be passionate about it, we too can once again me focused like little Sean, being better, wiser, and before long, be catching our own kind of fish! BELIEVE IT & ACHIEVE IT

The Word of the Day was “Con.fi.dent”, verb. [Prepared by Language Evaluator, Mary Sai, TM] Meaning = certain, positive / self-reliant, assured - Adjective: o Having strong belief or full assurance; confident or fulfillment Eg: Jack was confident he could complete his assignments by this evening. - Noun: o The quality of being certain of your abilities or of having trust in people, plans, or the future. Eg: They don’t sound confident about the future of the industry.

In the Impromptu Speech Session, Joey Chua, CC has challenged us on persuasive skill. Derric Tan, TM he lead off the impromptu session, follow by Siew Ming Yan, TM, our distinguish guest, Gunasundari, Loh Boon Keong, TM, our distinguish guest again, Alvin Loh and end by Alvin Yong, TM. Another pleasant surprise session in our meeting was the Humorous Session; Chew Siew Lei TM has improved a lot on her humor skill. Today she told us a story about a lady went to do her shopping at “Husband Shop”. So, girls, do you wish to visit this shop as well? If you wish to find it out, please check and get the location from Chew Siew Lei (just kidding). The moral of the story is… Girls/Woman is hard to please; they’re never satisfied with the things they have. I hope I got the right points. Anyway, this is a Humor session, and I’m sharing it with fun. Hopefully the ladies won’t get too personal on it. J

Filling up our stomach, now it’s time for us to fill our mind, the TME started the 2nd session, Prepared Speech Session. Today we have 3 speakers, they are:

1. C&L #2 : Organize Your Speech – Patrick Lim, TM Title : Ever Had He has share with what is the secret that lead him towards the achievement that he had achieved today. “The 90/10 Principle”. The Author is Stephen Covey. {What is this principle? 10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react! What does this mean? We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. For example, the plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%. The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%! How?... ... By your reaction! }(sources from http://www.docstoc.com/docs/12990/10-90-rule)

2. C&L #2 : Organize Your Speech – Cecelia Hoo, TM Title : Why should not be too nice in life? A question comes to my mind after I listen to this title, it contradicts our normal thought that we should try to be nice to everybody! After hearing her story, it have the points of should not be too nice! Her quote: sometime “Too nice = S.T.U.P.I.D” Let’s think about it!

3. C&L #5: Your Body Speaks – Alvin Yong, TM Title : Healthy & Wealthy Life A typically reminder for us, we should life healthy and toward wealthy life! A generous reminder to the smoker, please stop smoke because smoke will spoil your health by cancer! A reminder to non smoker, never ever try to smoke!

第82次例常活动/2009口才训练课程（6）
主题：追求卓越

今天，是KBTC有史以来最少人的例常活动！只有15位出席者，当中有12位会友及3位口才训练班的会友。今晚并没有来宾！但我们还是顺利的把例常活动圆满的进行。

蔡湘莹CC是今晚的司仪，她的魅力和魄力依然风范， 带领我们完成了整个会议。主导师，苏鸿伟DTM，没有他，就没有KBTC，用心良苦的提供了我们一个“游泳池”（巴生双语国际讲演会），让我们可以学习如何“游泳”（沟通与领导能力）。他说：“比赛就是要追求卓越。不要把自己设定在一个让自己觉得舒适的环境下，因为在舒适的环境下，就不会再进步了！”真不愧是我们伟大的主导师，提醒了我们，无论在讲演会还是在人生的过程中，我们都要不断的追求卓越，才能让我们到达另一个高峰！

由于今天也是口才训练班，我们的会长，庄倩云ACS CL为我们准备了一个专题演说 - 运用肌体语言。他提供了一些对演讲很有帮助的参考，那就是只要你投入你的讲稿，享受你的演讲，你的肌体语言就会自然而然的呈现出来！如果刻意的去运用肌体语言，会使你变得很僵硬，更无法达到肌体语言的效果。小小分享，大大的收获，对吧？

结束了第82次例常活动/2009口才训练课程（6），发现我们的华语讲演会出现了一些小状况，我们的华语班的会友都去了那里？无意中面临了人手不足，华语班的会友们，希望大家都可以安排时间出席我们的讲演会，并让我们重温昔日的热闹，好吗？

Regular Meeting 81 (E) - 27th July 2009

This is the first time for me to write a blog on behalf of Klang Bilingual Toastmasters Club (KBTC). I am thinking what I should write for the blog? Actually I still have not visit KBTC blog yet, I plan to visit and see how other write, but I don’t do it, because I think I should write what I think on KBTC without affected by others. If I have visited the blog, I may affect by them and write something that out of my style… What do you think ?

Another mountain conquered as we the Klang Toastmaster Bilingual Club with the force of 24 distinguish Toastmasters in our Regular Meeting 81 being honored with 3 wonderful guests:

3. Andy Ching, ACB CL from CIMA Toastmasters Club

Toastmaster Chew Siew Lei as the Toastmaster of the Evening (TME) with the theme of the meeting was “Forgiveness”. Such a nice word, that led us to think of how many of us are really and truly forgive others? Our Table Topic Master, Patrick Lim also used the same theme to challenge us in the Impromptu Speech Session. All in all we had 6 participants for the Impromptu Speech Session, and it’s unbelievable that among our guest, Ms.Shirley Cheok took the 1^st challenge, and the 2^nd one was challenged by our guest, Ms.Niessah, followed by our member Tee Yeh Ching, Cecelia Hoo, Soh Fong Wai and last but not least Siew Ming Yan. It’s a courtesy of KTBC to give the chance to the guests to have a change in the Table Topics sessions first hence the excitement. J

Remember still, one of the topics given by our TTM, “Asking for forgiveness is easy than asking for permission” thinking back what do you think?

The Word of the Day was “Per.se.vere”, verb.

Meaning = To continue trying to do or achieve something despite difficulties/obstacles.

Eg: “In spite of all obstacles and failures, the scientist persevered with his experiments.”

I was personally inspired by Derric's speech, and his quote of “Living through Life or Just Merely passing through”, “To make money and lose our health” and “The beauty & perfection in all imperfection”. By watching the short clip from Youtube that he prepared, it truly inspired me to recall my own personal life. Before this, I dislike my mum to calling me up requesting me to return home early, and repetitively telling me that it is now late! Even in adulthood as I am now, it really gets me annoyed and irritated. Here I would like to take the opportunity to apologize to my mother, sorry mum. After watching the movie, it made me think, because my mum is still with me now, that is why she’s still able to call me up and I should not only value but treasure it! Most of our club members are progressing very quickly tonight we have 4 first timers that signed up for the role play, they are:

2. Table Topic Master - Patrick Lim Kwang Ming, TM

3. Table Topic Evaluator - Adrian Kow, TM

A job well done as it was impressive even for a first timer. Congratulations!
